I unfollowed you because of your close-minded views of gay marriage. I’m a Christian and I’m so incredibly FOR gay marriage. Don’t use Christianity as an excuse.
I’m sorry if I offended you, but I believe I have a right to my own opinion. Maybe you’re a Christian and you’re for it, but I am too and I think it’s against my beliefs.
Do you follow everything the Bible says word for word? The Bible from a whole different time. Why not update your beliefs to fit the 21st Century?
I wouldn’t say I FOLLOW everything the Bible says word for word, but I do BELIEVE all that it says. I know a lot of people use this as an argument against Christians, like the laws in Leviticus about not cutting your hair or wearing clothes of two different type of fabric, but that examples like those were meant for those times.
I believe that we weren’t meant to follow those laws anymore because in the New Testament [I don’t know where specifically, but if you want me to look it up, I will], it basically says that the purpose of the Law is so we would know what sin is, but we would be saved only through faith. I wouldn’t say I “updated my beliefs to fit the 21st century” because you’re not supposed to incorporate the Bible into your life, you’re supposed to incorporate your life by the Bible.
I hope that answered your question, but it would help to be more specific. Like what beliefs would I supposedly update to fit the 21st century? I’m not sure what exactly you were asking about, but I tried to answer in a general sort of way.
What’s your opinion on gay marriage?
I don’t support it.
I’m not saying I hate gay people or judge them or anything of that sort. I just believe marriage should be between a man and a woman.
This is mostly because I’m a Christian, and I’ve been brought up on these principles. Honestly, I wish it was accepted. I’m totally up for respecting love in any way shape or form.
But because the Bible clearly states it, so it’s something I gotta stick to.
